Journey's is a free Bereavement Support Group

A 6 week course will begin each Monday, June 4 through July 9, 2012 10:00 - 11:30 a.m., at The Renaissance, 101 W. National Ave., Brazil. Wayne Richard Stantz

Wayne Richard Stantz, 80, of Coal City, IN went home to be with his Lord, on February 2, 2012 in Seymour, IN following a short illness.

Wayne was born November 23, 1931 the son of Paul and Woneta (Young) Stantz. He graduated from Coal City High School with the class of 1950. Following high school he pursued a career with the railroad as an engineer and retired after 35 years and served a two year term with the United States Army.

Wayne married Mary Kathryn Horn on March 13, 1954.

Wayne was a member of the Coal City Church of Christ, where he served as the treasurer. He was a volunteer fireman and an EMT, a member of American Legion Post 141 in Coal City, and a member of the Coal City festival committee. In his free time he enjoyed visiting shut ins and nursing home residents, but most of all spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife: Mary Kathryn.

He is survived by his daughters: Kala Fay Unverzagt (Kurt) of New Palenstine, IN, Kathy Lynn Barker (Jeff) of Seymour, IN; grandchildren: Becky Jo Yancey (Aaron), Brent Barker (Heather), Cari Ann Roberts (Jason), Brad Barker (Rachel), Kylene Steward (Dustin), Kristy Hutchinson (Jesse); 16 great grandchildren; sister: Freida Jones; along with many extended family members, and his loyal dog Cash.

Funeral Information

Service will be held on February 6, 2011 at 11am at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home with burial following at Fiscus Cemetery. Visitation will be February 5, 2011 from 4- 8 pm at the funeral home.

Donations Information

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Coal City Church of Christ Camp Fund.
