Elizabeth Hope York

Elizabeth Hope York, 93, of Brazil, passed away September 4, 2010 in Sun City Center, Florida following a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was born January 17, 1917, in Vigo County, IN the daughter of Bert and Blanche (Sweet) Kidwell.

Mrs. York was married to Gilbert Grayless who passed away in 1948. She was a member of the First Christian Church. Mrs. York spent much of her life raising her family. She also worked with the Seniors Citizens Green Thumb until she was 92 years old.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bert and Blanche Kidwell and husband Gilbert Grayless; son Darrell Grayless; granddaughter Rebecca Grayless and grandson Darrell Grayless as well as two sisters Ina Faye Armstrong and Norma Kidwell; brothers Harold Kidwell, Delbert Kidwell, and William Leo Kidwell.

Survivors include her sons William Grayless and wife Carolyn of Riverview, Florida; grandchildren: Gilbert Grayless, Edward Grayless, William Grayless Jr., Sharon K. Barse, Sidney Grayless, Darrell Grayless III, Darlene Collins, Melissa Tilley and Crystal Ropp; 18 great grandchildren; as well as several great great grandchildren and extended family members.

Graveside services will be at Bee Ridge Cemetery Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 11am.
