A 6 week course will begin each Monday, June 4 through July 9, 2012 10:00 - 11:30 a.m., at The Renaissance, 101 W. National Ave., Brazil. Robert “Gravel” Rood

Robert “Gravel” Rood, 61, of Clay City, passed away at Regional Hospital, February 4, 2012.

He was born in Muncie, IN October 12, 1950 the son of Dallas J. Rood Jr. and Martha (Byrd) Rood. Robert graduated from Marengo High School with the class of 1969. Most of his life Robert worked in construction as a welder and a laborer. He was a member of the Laborers Union 741 in Bloomington. Most recently he had been working with his brothers and nephew at Rogers Group INC.

Robert had enjoyed his years of retirement spending time with his granddaughters, fishing, and riding his Harley Davidson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Robert is survived by his daughter April Pearson and husband Matt of Lawrenceburg, IN, son Tim Fassold of Lawrenceburg, IN; granddaughter Ayla Pearson and Sophia Fassold; sister Paula VanSickle (Paul) of Clay City; brothers: Dewayne Rood (Toni) of Clay City and Timothy L. Rood of Clay City as well as several nieces and nephews and extended family members.

Funeral Information

Memorial services will be at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, Friday February 10, 2012 at 5:00pm with Pastor Steve Wingert officiating. Friends are welcome to greet the family Friday from 3:00pm until time of services.
