Charles “Willie” Martin Charles “Willie” Martin, 53, of Terre Haute, passed away March 3, 2010 at his residence following a brief battle with cancer.
He was born in Jerseyville, IN January 29, 1957 the son of Charles J. and Viola Shaw Martin. Following high school he began serving his country with the United States Navy. He worked at the Mercantile Bank in Alton, IL for several years before moving to Terre Haute. He married Tami Gress July 14, 2006. Willie worked at Bemis Corporation for 10 years before retiring in 2008. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, building model airplanes and spending time with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Viola Martin.
Survivors include his wife Tami of Terre Haute; children: Christopher Martin and wife Heather of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Nicole Martin of Panama City, Florida, and Justin Parmley of Alton, Illinois; step daughter Jessica Corona of Terre Haute step son DeWayne Corona and wife Nikki of Brazil; several grandchildren; sister Becky (DeSherlia) Wildeisen of Clifton Hill, Missouri; brothers: James Martin of Olympia, WA. and Daniel W. Martin and wife Tammy of Dexter, MO; aunt and uncle Denny and Bert Shaw as well as several cousins and extended family members.
Funeral Information
A memorial service will be held at Mount Pleasant Church, in Terre Haute, Monday, March 8, 2010 at 1:30pm. Cremation services have been entrusted to French Funeral Home, in Brazil.
