Elsie Rose Roberts

January 27, 1937 - January 30, 2010

Elsie Rose Roberts, 73 of Staunton died January 30, 2010 at 9:00am at Royal Oaks Healthcare Facility.

She was born January 27, 1937 in Brazil, IN. the daughter of Alvin and Helen Fox Morris.

On August 3, 1952 she married Charles E. Roberts and together they raised their family in the Staunton area. Charles preceded her in death on December 21, 2001.

In her work career, Elsie was employed at the Windbreaker Plant and then later worked for the Clay Community School Corporation as a custodian. She taught art education at Rosedale School for a time and later worked in dietary at Holly Hills Healthcare Facility.

Elsie enjoyed attending church at the Nazarene Community Church in Cory. Her life long passion has come from art. She enjoyed pencil drawing, working in oil paint, doing landscapes and actually any form of art she found enjoyment in.

She is survived by her three children, Rick Roberts (Bonnie Greenlee) of Brazil, Kathy McCullough (Tom) of Staunton, and Tommy Roberts (Yvonne) of Greencastle; 9 grandchildren, Tammy, Teresa, Timothy, Troy, Bill, Whitney, Kelly, Brian and Chad; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Marilyn Walton of Brazil, Sue Tupes of Rosedale; 2 brothers, Charles Morris (Vicky) and Jerry Morris (Carla) of Brazil; several nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Funeral Information

Services will be held Tuesday at 1:00pm at Lawson-Miller Chapel with Pastor Rick Parsons officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11-1pm.
